Day 11

Ice Skating....

We went to the outdoor rink in Rancho with our homeschooling friends today.  The boys had a really good time, sad that it closes on Monday.

Day 10

Why we love the dentist....

The boys had a 6 month dental check up today, leaving cavity free!  

The boys love this place because of the video game wall in the waiting room and the movies that play during their cleaning. Kids Care Dental in Folsom.

Day 9

Getting things cleaned up around the house....

We've been cleaning things up around the house, garage and backyard, but it's all been sitting in a pile in our side yard. Finally scheduled the trash pick up and it will all be gone in the morning.  YAY!

Bowling...

It's fun to see how much better the boys get each time we go. 

Day 7

Basketball has started...

Cody is playing on a different league this year, closer to home.  He's pretty happy to be back in a sport for a couple of months.  I am happy to not be driving 30-45 minutes to games and practices. 

Day 6

Stock up day...

On the 6th and the 21st of the month we head out to stock up groceries and such for 2 weeks.  It usually feels like a competition to see just how far that dollar will stretch. 

Today we ended up at 6 stores between Birthday gifts, shopping the sales ads, and our everyday grocery stores.  Exhausting. 

Day 5

A play date with friends...

A friend had a meeting all afternoon and we picked up her girls from school.  The boys were excited to have them over and take turns on the trampoline.  

Oh, and 70 degrees in January = awesome.

Day 4

Today we had our first home school group of the year.  The moms planned things out while the kids played, for nearly four hours.  

It helped that it was like a beautiful, spring day today.  It's January, right?

Today I pushed play, a short 20 minutes, but I did it!  

Project 365, Day 1

In hopes of taking more pictures this year, I'm joining in on Project 365.  The original premiss is that you take one picture each day of one year in hopes of stretching your creativity, becoming a better photographer.  I'm using it like a lot of people where it is a way to capture our everyday life for the next year.  Of course I'll still do main blog posts on things crafty (hoping to finish up a bunch of projects this year) and when we have fun, special or life events to report on our family blog. 

So here's day 1...

Pizza for dinner to ring in the new year.  That pretty much sums up the excitement of our day! 

(They will get better, hopefully.)

Custom Burb Cloths...

A friend asked if I could make up some embellished burb cloths for a baby shower gift.  This was my first go at doing these, and I'm now trying to figure out why I didn't start doing them sooner!  Used 6 ply Gerber cloth diapers to start with, then washed both the fabric and diapers in hot water to get the shrinking process out of the way (these cloth diapers really shrink up in the wash)
Some of the fabrics I had at home already, part coming from a huge oriental lot I purchased over 2 years ago and haven't touched.  (I may have to post all the fabric at some point)

 Owls are my absolute favorite right now (still have a lot of this left)...

 Flannels I picked up at Jo-Ann's.  

Note to self: don't go the day after a big sale weekend, slim pickings...

Fabric Flowers....

So I'm in love.  A friends guided me towards a new technique that's easy and beautiful! 

These are good for all ladies young and old.  Can't wait to make some more...

First show on the books...

This past Saturday I was able to set up a table at the local craft and vendor fair, so glad to have the first one done!  I did make back what the booth cost, plus a little more.  People seamed to like what I had for sale, even if it wasn't flying off the table, and it all makes me look forward to the future.

Getting ready for the show...

It's been a busy week getting ready for the craft fair on Saturday!

The last couple of days I've been working on how things are going to be displayed on the 6 foot table space I'll be given.
