A bag for camera....

With a new camera in tow, the need for a padded bag arose.  It also needs to double as a purse as I'm not one to carry multiple bags around when we are on our adventures.  After doing some searching on Pinterest, this one caught my eye.  I love the fabric she used, but those packs can be very expensive.  Coupons in hand we headed to Joann's instead.  This is what the finished product looks like.

 To add some cute....
It has a super long strap that is comfortable to wear across the body.
After some tweaking, the pocket in the back is big enough from my Nook.
Inside there are a couple of small pockets and room for my camera.

Now to find and adventure to test it out!

Day 170

Buddy Gymnastics
This week is bring a buddy to class at the gym. We are going to miss the boys' classes on Friday, so it was easiest to have Cody do class with Ty today.  (Maroon shirt with his hands in the air)

Ty wasn't having the best of classes.  Starting out with a trip and fall walking over to their spot that had him teary.  After a quick water break, he seamed to be okay.

Sports Camp...
The boys are going to sports camp 4 days this week in the morning.
Today they played rugby, or rugbyish as it Cody described it, followed by flag tag (using flag football flags).  Fun stuff!

Day 168

Working on a bag....
New camera means I need a new bag that will protect it, double as a purse, and be cute.  Hopefully it ends up fitting all those things!

Day 165

Ran out of steam....
After a busy of day working out, going to swim practice, out shopping with my sister in law,  back to the pool for open swim, cutting fabric and eating dinner I ran out of steam.
Hopefully tomorrow I'll make some time to work on my project.

Mom and Dad popped in for a few days for a visit.  Today we went to see Madagascar, then out to pizza and some shopping at the outlet malls.

Day 158

Basking in the sun....
We had a swim date with some good friends today, everyone had a great time.

Wednesday, June 6, 2012

Day 157

Pool party...
To celebrate a good school year, we had a pool party with our homeschooling group.  They played games, we made ice cream in three flavors and they shared a friendship fruit salad.  It was a lot of fun, but it's not hard when all these kids are together.

day 156

Binding....
I'm slowly finishing my quilt.  Today I was able to sew the binding together and put onto the topside.  To finish I need to hand sew it to the back side.

Monday, June 4, 2012

Day 155

Cloudy swim...
Today was rainy.  Luckily it stopped before swim practice, but it was still cloudy and the wind picked up.  Hmm, late spring weather it is!

Sunday, June 3, 2012

Day 154

Swimming...
We headed over to the pool so the boys could get in some free swimming time.  As in free to jump in, anyway, as many times as they like.  Free to ride the slide over and over.  Free to do whatever.
This picture doesn't show it, but it was pretty busy at the pool today.

Saturday, June 2, 2012

Day 153

Time Trials....
Our first taste of swim meets today, the boys did great!

Friday, June 1, 2012

Day 152

Back from the quilter....
The quilter finished quilting my quilt!  Phew.  It's the same pattern all over with small bulb like flowers and dragon flies, I love it.
To finish it I need to cut down the excess, making it square and put a binding on to finish the edges.
So close!

Day 151

Growth....
The prettiest plant we have in the garden right now is Tyler's cucumber plant.  It started to flower over a week ago and there are a couple of cucumbers starting to sprout, so cool.

Day 150

Bar...
We finally put up the new bar today.  It has two sets of cups, so that you can taking it down and move it to another position.  Right now it's in the low spot, but will spend some time in the top spot as well.

Tuesday, May 29, 2012

Day 149

Summer art....
We kicked off the summer by painting some new money jars for the boys' rooms.
They like to get their change out and count it, which makes a piggy bank a pain.  Only other problem being that I keep finding their money around because it doesn't have a proper home.

Monday, May 28, 2012

Day 148

Buddies....
This was supposed to be a picture of our first trip of the summer season to the OV pool for open swim, but my camera was dead when we arrived.
So instead, here's a picture of Ty and his buddy from down the street as they played this afternoon.

Day 146

Movie Party....
The boys were invited to a movie party today.  They had a full set up of theater goodies including a full size popcorn machine.  Once the sun went down, they set up on the lawn and watched a movie drive-in style, projected onto the side of the house.  Awesome!

Thanks to the Black family for a good time and photos.

We joined our homeschooling group for a trip to B Street theater.  The play was fun and the characters did a great job.  We'll have to go back again for another show.

Tuesday, May 22, 2012

Day 142

Cleaning...
Still working on yard sale stuff, today's task was to drag out all the too small yard toys and get them washed up.  Tyler has been a great helper!

Monday, May 21, 2012

Day 141

Swimmer boy...
Tyler wearing his new super swimmer cap.  He wasn't liking all the water getting in his ears for backstroke, so we tried this and it's seamed to have helped.  He only stopped one time his first trip across the pool tonight while on his back.  Now if he'll just do this every time!

Day 140

Getting ready to sell...
We're are having a yard sale this weekend, this week is full of pulling stuff out and ridding our house of clutter.

Saturday, May 19, 2012

Day 139

Pow Wow Days Parade
We were up bright and early to walk with the swim team in the parade today.
The boys had a lot of fun and saw quite a few of their friends.

The carnival was next on our agenda for the day and into the night.

Day 138

Fixing the broken....

We've been trying to get things done around the house, tackling a few outdoor things.  Yesterday father-in-law fixed the leak in the bed sprinklers so that we can start figuring out a drip/sprinkler for the garden.  This meant digging up a bit of the yard by the front door.  We also had a big section of the yard by the sidewalk that never really took well. So we turned the soil, raked it up and put on some turf builder that is fertilizer and seed all in one.  Fingers crossed it grows!

Cover for Nook

Yay, my Nook is no longer naked!
I can now take it places protected and without feeling like it's going to get broken process.

I ordered a PDF pattern from here.
This was a huge help in not having to figure out dimensions and design.

Being fancy and all, a quilted look was in store.  So I dug through my fabric stash and found some that weren't going to be used and decided they were prefect and bright.

Here is the cover all laid out.
 Mini yo-yo button closure
 Inside, left side has pockets
Nook Color resting in it's new case...
 All buttoned up
 The back...

A fun little Thursday project.

Day 137

Go Tigersharks!
The boys and I are walking in the Pow Wow days parade on Saturday with the swim team, so we made some shirts so we can look the part.

9am on Greenback between Main and Filbert in Orangevale.

Wednesday, May 16, 2012

Day 136

Cutting more fabric....
Wait a minute, we've been here before, I recognize that tree!

I'm working on a cover for my new nook.  I'm hoping the idea in my head works out well when it's all sewn together.  Luckily I found a great pattern to at least give me dimensions so at least that guess work is gone.

Tuesday, May 15, 2012

Day 135

Take me out to the ball game....
Today we went to a school day at Raley field to see the Rivercats play.
We are not baseball people and as much as the boys have been wanting to go back, we lasted a whopping 2 innings.
I think a good part of this had to do with the 1 hour assembly we had to sit through before the game where we couldn't really understand what the speaker was saying.

Hopefully we can knock this off the boys' to do list.

Monday, May 14, 2012

Day 134

Booties...
Fluffy ones at that.

Sunday, May 13, 2012

Day 133

On the lake....
The boys headed off to the lake with Uncle Stu, Aunt Virginia and Uncle Eli for most of the day.  This meant my house was very quiet and I was able to finish up a couple of projects and just sit.
Happy Mother's Day!
