Halloween!

Another fun night on the books!

Mario does Gymnastics.....

It was dress up week at gymnastics.  Ty has decided that he's going to be a ghost, but his costume is not very gymnastics friendly, so we dug out the Mario costume instead.  A belt around his middle to shorten it up a bit and a penciled on mustache to finish off the look.

Cody's team finally had a win!  He also had the opportunity to play up at mid field instead of just defense, he really loved the chance.

Harvest Festival

Today we went to a harvest festival sponsored by our charter school.  There were a ton of kids there and lots of activities, the boys had a great time.

While waiting for brother to finish his Spanish class, we played many rounds of Uno.  We are really starting to enjoy our Thursday card games!

After yesterday's writing class Cody re-wrote his book report and then asked if he could type it out.

Writing and Art....

In the boys' writing class today they read Where the Wild Things Are.  After their discussion they wrote a summary and then made puppets.  

The puppets were pretty basic, so they decided to spruce them up.

More apples....

Today's cooking made for 8 more quarts, 2 pints and 2 almost pints for the freezer of applesauce.  

40 lbs of apples were bought in Apple Hill last week, with about 12 apples left in the box.

One of Cody's specialites on the soccer field is that he has a good long ball kick for penalties, corner and goal kicks.

The boxes have been cut and painted.  Now we need to figure out what else we're going to glue to it to make it look more like a robot and how to light it up.  Fun!

The boys were excited for treats from Grandma that came in the mail.  New shirt, new hoodie with Dinosaurs, gum, favorite breakfast bars and a Jamba card!

Do you see that?  Pants and a sweatshirt!  I'm so happy to finally see some fall, on 10/11/12. 

Although it's supposed to be almost 80 by Saturday, we'll take it.

First batch....

Sprouts has apples on sale for .59 per pound, so we bought three huge bags.  We've eaten some and the rest were for applesauce. The Granny Smith's were really good, so a jar of baking apples awaits a pie.  Really need to make that trip to Apple Hill!

We were at Lowe's today picking up some supplies for Cody's Halloween costume and the fall mums were calling to me.  Hoping to brighten up the flower beads a bit.

National Walk to School Day.....

Most mornings, the boys go on a walk before heading off to the school room, helping to get them into school mode.

Creating....

We finally busted out the last of Tyler's birthday presents today, a bouncy ball making kit.  The boys thought it was really cool and the process is simple.  The worst part is waiting for them to process, about 30 minutes total.  They aren't the bounciest balls we've ever had, but they made them and thought it was fun!  Thanks Black Family!

Today in class the boys built a helicopter out of wood blocks, then made a paper whirly bird to take home.

The boys love taking their lunch outside and sitting on the rocks.  It's not been as hot this past week, so it's been pretty pleasant to sit out there.

Waiting for the boys to get out of their class today, fall was trying to be in the air.

They've decided that they want make a bunch of things to put on the wall as a mural in the toy room.  Should be fun to see what all they come up with.

Phew, now at least it doesn't look like a jungle!  

Still need to search through the potato bag, then find some new small, flowering bushes to plant  that really like the sun.

Both boys' teams lost, but they played pretty well.  Another one in the books.

Bring a friend....

This week at the gym was bring a friend week.  We forgot about it on Tuesday, and Ty's friend couldn't make it on Friday, but Cody was able to have his buddy Ethan join him for his class.

Class day....

This week we had our first round of enrichment classes through our charter school.  

Thursday, for the first 3 weeks, we hang out at the church they are located at most the day.  Tyler goes to class, then Cody, then we have lunch and start the cycle again.  In between we get to hang out and do our other school work for the day, one on one.

We went to a BBQ tonight with some very good friends.  It was the perfect time to try the layered Jell-O I've been eying on Pinterest.  Yum!
