Holes.....

In hopes of gaining some more storage in the house, we have two freshly cut and framed holes in the ceiling of our garage.  Rich has a new 10 foot ladder that will be stored at our house for safer access.  

Now to figure out what to stick up there.

Somebody gets very upset when you fence him in.  

Luckily he gets over it very quickly once he finds a toy or magazine to play with.

End of Session 1.....

The boys finished up their first session of classes today.  

Cody's derby car was voted best looking in the class and he came in 2nd in the race!

Need a space cleared of all vegetation in your yard?  Cage in a rabbit and that should do the trick!

Blast from the past.....

The boys have a new dream sitting in the garage.  

A friend that Keith works on cars with had this sitting in his garage, owned by another mutual friend.  So, now we have it for a bit.  

It needs updates, we don't have any safety equipment among other things, so we'll have to see what becomes of it.

The boys had another weekend of improvement, ending the game with a 0-0 tie.

Steppin'......

Little man is trying very hard to walk on his own.  He showed off his mad steppin' skills today by taking a few steps between Cody and I.  His face is hilarious, even when slightly washed out.

Still leaky....

While cleaning on Sunday I discover a big puddle of water under the kitchen sink.  We tightened a couple of fittings in hopes that's all it was, but weren't that lucky.  The drain pipe has a big crack in it.  So, the sink and dishwasher have been down all week.  

Thank goodness Rich insisted on putting in a utility sink in the garage, it's been used heavily this week!  

It got to the point that I needed to wash everything, including the full load of dirty dishes sitting in the dishwasher.  

We think we have a fix, fingers crossed it holds.

Halloween....

It was time to change up the seasons and bring in some fall fun.  I love getting these things out each year.  

I did cheat a bit and changed the picture frames to their fall/Nov pictures as the frame closure are note in very good shape and can't take too many more changes.  

Now to start working on costumes.

Celebrating Success...

Cody did very well on his STAR testing (state testing) last Spring and his charter school celebrates these kinds of successes each year.  The students chosen for the evening scored 1 to 2 levels higher than they did in the previous year or who score in the advance range.  

He was recognized with the other 4th graders and then was able to pick out a book to take home.

Beautiful fall.....

The sunsets have been beautiful the last few weeks.  This is how we were able to end the day today while at soccer practice.

Fixin' stuff.....

We spent part of the day looking at and installing washer and driers.  Ty had fun helping take apart the old washer to see if we could figure out why it had some problems.  

New to us washer was hooked up, but it's not working so we are on the hunt for parts for the old one. 

Plus we found a leak under the kitchen sink.  JOY!

Country Soccer....

This weeks game was up the hill in the taller trees.  It was a beautiful day!  The boys had their best game so far even with a 1-4 loss.

Finally dug in and organized the front closet today.  Yay for finding matching gloves!

Another trial that's proving to be a winner!  

A friends told me about BzzAgent and we have been loving all the opportunities.  They send you products (or coupons for products), you try them, tell people about them and then give them feedback.  This is our 3rd campaign and I have a coffee one that should arrive any day.

2 hour tour....

Today we took a tour on the El Dorado Western Railroad.

We caught one of the lucky 5 weekend months, making it so we could take the longest ride they offer.  The train runs most weekends as long as it's not pouring rain.

Power House....

We took a break today and went on a scouting adventure to try and find a good spot for fall pictures.  We stopped by the Folsom Power House for a few and it was open for tours.  The museum at the top has some fun, interactive exhibits about electricity which fit in with Cody's science lesson for the week.  (Win!)

We are still on the hunt of the perfect picture spot, but have some more to try.

Boats...

The boys finished their work, so we took advantage of the nice day by taking their boats over to Natomas to play for a bit.  Aiden had fun watching them and all the other things going on in the lake.

Another Tuesday....

The weather is great, making it great for outdoor work during the boys' Tuesday classes.

New floor....

The gym has been working on putting in a new tumbling runway for the Tramp & Tumbling team.  It's a fancy rod floor that they use in their competitions.  Ty's group isn't doing anything powerful enough to get the full benefit from it yet, but it's a nice space to work on some of their moves.

Tahoe....

Girls weekend in Tahoe came just at the right time.  It was a bit stormy on the way up and rained into the evening, then we saw snow, but woke up to beautiful blue skies this morning.  

Can't wait to go again!

Soccer Saturday....

Cody's team did better this weekend even though they lost 0-3.  

I didn't catch the end of the game as I was on my way to Tahoe.

Working......

Cody's soccer team has been playing against some very tough teams.  He joined the team after they had been practicing for more than 2 months.  I've mentioned to him that it would help his game if he built up his stamina, but it was up to him.  This morning he went for a jog without anyone prompting him.  It's awesome to see him making good choices.

Empty.....

Our rabbit, Bun, past away this morning.  We're not really sure what happened, but we also don't know how old she was.  It's strange to not see her out there.

Pet sitting...

One of our neighbors is on a trip this week and asked us to feed and play with his dog while he's away.  The boys have had a good time going over and keeping her company.  She's a super sweet dog, so it's not hard to enjoy our time with her.

Tuesday....

The boys have their enrichment classes on Tuesday which means doing some of our work in the car while waiting for the other.  Mr. A is having fun exploring the back of the truck as well.

Busy = Normal.....

Our new normal through November.  6 Days of sports (occasional 7th), enrichment classes, appointments and babysitting.  Busy is our normal, I'm not sure we would know what to do with ourselves if it wasn't like this.

Soccer Sunday....

We had two games this weekend, luckily both being in the morning.  They lost again 0-6?, but had a better start and were a bit more evenly matched.  They all have a lot of work to do this season.

The boys had a rough game today, losing 0-7.

Aerospace Museum....

We took Grandma & Grandpa D. to the Aerospace Museum today.  It was hot walking through the outside planes, but really interesting.

Spare room....

Our someday house will have an extra room as a spare bedroom.  For now, it's the futon!

Classes, take 2....

Yesterday's classes are the ones the boys go to each week. 

Today they had their once a month classes up in Rescue.  

Cody took an engineering class (built a rubber band rocket), Mixed media art (make a pencil holder out of a coil of paper) and LEGO Robotics (built a car and then programmed it on the computer for movements).

Tyler took a LEGO Engineering class (built a gravity and pull back car), Life Science (held and talked about all kinds of reptiles and brought home a fish that's only as wide as my thumb nail) and an Art class (painting).  

Both reported that the classes were great and they were upset that they had to wait a month until the next session!
