Team Party.....

Ty's gymnastics team had their Christmas party tonight, a lot of fun to get to meet some of the other parents, good food, and the boys had a gift exchange.

Shopping...

We dropped Ty off at gym and headed to the craft store for a quick stop.  These two found the music sample machine and the dancing commenced.

The top of Ty's quilt is almost complete.  A quick lay out to measure for the border, hoping it will be finished in time!

Family.....

Sunday dinner this week including all the family as we celebrated Stu's birthday.  Keith had a buddy during the present opening.

2 front teeth.....

We had a very busy day today with a Birthday party, Futsal game and Christmas party.  Between all that, Ty was bumped in the mouth and his very loose tooth fell out.  Jack-O-Lantern!

Tree.....

Mr. A. has been really good about not touching the tree but loves to check out the ornaments and train.

Baking.....

The house smelled wonderful after pulling out batches of poppy seed bread, a favorite of the season!

Dovewood Ct........

We braved the cold to check out Dovewood Ct.  Still a favorite activity of the season!  There were subtle differences like every year and the houses looked great!

Coach John wrote a report on the boys' first meet.  Awesome job!

Working on Christmas.....

That is what one finished project looks like, but just a peak!  

Phew! Always good to cross something off the list.

Santa Breakfast....

The one good thing about Ty's meeting session being at 5pm tonight was that we were able to go to the Orangevale Grange for their Santa Breakfast.  The food is always good and they had a great Santa without crazy lines.  Pancakes and Eggs (or french toast, sausage, ham, biscuits & gravy) to fuel up for a busy day! 

Day 340

Futsal....

This winter, Cody is playing the Worldly version of indoor soccer called Futsal.  It's played on a basketball type court (pitch) with a heavy, low bounce ball with 5 players per side including the goalie.  There are a few rules that are different from outdoor, but nothing too crazy.   With this game they are forced to use their foot skills and lots of short, quick passes.  They lost their first game out, but had a good 2nd half.  Hopefully they can turn it around and put some goals in the net and a W on the board.

Kick the tire.....

When the weather turns cold, the tires come out and the boys have a game multiple times a day.  

Soccer/Hockey type game, simple trying to kick the LEGO Tire past each other.  

It was hilarious on Friday, especially with Aiden in the middle.

Gym stuff....

At our gym, the level 4 boys don't have a full uniform set, meaning they also don't have any kind of warm-up outfit.  We found some red track pants and a sweatshirt to match, but it needed a little something.   Freezer paper stencils later and he has a new gym sweatshirt for meet days.

Oh and it also includes a little BSU on the shoulder for good luck and to razz his coach a bit.

We went to a new place this year, no cutting our own, but a nice tree was found for $25.  

The selection wasn't huge, but we found one!

We are slowly getting our Christmas out, here's the front of the house.

Mushroom.....

Grandpa Scollay has been hard at work, trying to figure out how to make a mushroom for Ty to practice on at home.  After a few ideas and lots of research online, he made it happen.  We need to to a bit of finishing work as it is sitting in the living room, but it's very functional!

Workin' for turkey....

The boys had to work for their turkey dinner, learning a new side show act!  

Thinking we have at least one future log roller in the family.

Soccer = Futsal 

 Cody is going to play Futsal this winter, a version of indoor soccer.  The rules area bit different, so we met with coach and a few other friends to play at the school and start learning the game a bit.

First Christmas project.....

The first project has been checked off the list, a wall hanging for a good friend.

School break....

We had a play date today with old friends.  After hanging out and eating lunch we took a walk down to the river where we were greeted with a lot of dead fish that didn't make it all the way to the spawning grounds.  It was pretty gross, but very educational.

Finally starting....

It's taken some time, but finally got started on Christmas crafting today.  Hoping I can get it all done.

Last and First.....

Cody's final soccer game of the season was today.  The were not able to pull out a win, losing 0-3, but played really well. Proud of how he kept pushing and made some great plays during the game. 

Tyler's first gym meet was this evening and he did great!

Cody's end of the season party was tonight, our contribution to the pot luck was cupcakes.

Discovery Museum....

We went to a Planetarium Show today at the Discovery Museum.  Very cool to see with the exception of the guy that kept looking at his phone and then taking pictures of the slide show.  VERY Distracting!  

We'll have to go back for one of their other shows.

Party.....

We hosted another House Party tonight, this time for the Soda Stream.  Pinterest inspired this turkey veggie tray. 

Oh and there was another soccer game today, with another loss on the books.  1 more week to go, thank goodness!

Fishery....

It's time for the salmon to run up the ladder so we went to the hatchery to check it out today.  We were able to see a lot of fish in the top holding tank, but had missed the open ladder for the day.  It was fun to walk down the trail and see all the fish in the river.  Check it out, it's peaceful and fascinating.

Another one gone....

Ty lost another one of his bottom teeth tonight.  

The middle, top tooth is pretty loose as well.  He has a nice Jack-O-Latern going for sure.

We are having a beautiful November.  After lunch, we spent some time playing outside and enjoying the awesome weather.

Christmas planning....

Juggler...

Cody is still working hard on his juggling, with the team record of 27 and an at home record of 31.  Two more weeks of practice to see who claims the prize!

Another Saturday.....

Another Soccer Saturday in the books, still not a win though.  

Cody is still making good plays and still needs to learn to dig deeper when he's tired and the games almost over, but he's still chugging along with a good attitude.

Little man is becoming braver by the day with letting go and taking some steps.

Teacher Day.....

Every 20 school days or so our teacher comes to check in on us and usually the boys make some kind of presentation.  Tyler did a book report this month with character pictures and a recommendation.

Mission....

Cody chose to research Mission Santa Cruz for history this month.  Spent a good amount of time replicating the building and making a fountain.  It wouldn't have been the best scoring project ever known, but his teacher (aka, Mom) was happy that he put it all together.  He did a nice job on his report and our teacher was impressed with his presentation.

Aiden loves watching the gymnasts work out, especially when it's Cody holding him up to see.

Soda Stream.....

We've been selected for another awesome House Party, this time for Soda Stream soda maker.  The party will be in a couple of week, but it arrived so we have been testing out some of the sample flavors that came with it.  The boys are stoked!

Soccer Saturday....

Cody had a decent game today.  He made some good defensive plays and showed some skills while trying to move the ball towards their goal.  He had some points where he wasn't quite in the game though, needing to work on stamina and consistency.
