Helper boy was in the kitchen today working on some fudge. It's not Christmas until we have at least a small batch of fudge. We ended up with 2 pans so we can pass some out to the neighbors across the street an family.
The boys enjoyed a long overdue play date with some of our homeschooling friends today. Rockets, basketball, football, exploring and tennis made for a fun afternoon.
*** In light of what happened today, I'm so grateful and blessed to be able to hug this little guy tonight. It's unfathomable to think about what those families are going through.
Our thoughts are with those families as they attempt to move forward from this tragedy.
Our charter is holding a Scholastic book fair this week and we're able to use some of our funds to purchase books. The boys were excited for new books, including the newest Diary of a Wimpy Kid book for Cody.
The advent calendar told us we were going on an ice skating field trip, so that's how we started our day. With a lunch and school work break in the middle, we then headed down to the fish hatchery to enjoy the good weather. We were able to catch the end of the salmon spawning, then went for nice walk around the aquatic center.
On Sunday, the boys and I watched Dolphin's Tale about Winter the dolphin that loses her tail and then learns how to swim with a prosthetic one.
Today we went to the library to stock up on new reading material and I found Cody looking at the non fiction books. He came home with 3 books about dolphins and said that he wanted to write a report and do a presentation to his teacher at our next meeting.
Coaching Tyler's team this season has been a lot of fun. The boys on the team are awesome and they all gel together really well. To show my thanks, I've been working on this jersey ornaments to hand out at our party this Sunday.
