Fall...

Ooooo, look!  Fall is starting to creep in!  LOVE this time of year!

2 hour tour....

Today we took a tour on the El Dorado Western Railroad.

We caught one of the lucky 5 weekend months, making it so we could take the longest ride they offer.  The train runs most weekends as long as it's not pouring rain.

Power House....

We took a break today and went on a scouting adventure to try and find a good spot for fall pictures.  We stopped by the Folsom Power House for a few and it was open for tours.  The museum at the top has some fun, interactive exhibits about electricity which fit in with Cody's science lesson for the week.  (Win!)

We are still on the hunt of the perfect picture spot, but have some more to try. 

Day 267

Boats...

The boys finished their work, so we took advantage of the nice day by taking their boats over to Natomas to play for a bit.  Aiden had fun watching them and all the other things going on in the lake.

Another Tuesday....

The weather is great, making it great for outdoor work during the boys' Tuesday classes.

New floor....

The gym has been working on putting in a new tumbling runway for the Tramp & Tumbling team.  It's a fancy rod floor that they use in their competitions.  Ty's group isn't doing anything powerful enough to get the full benefit from it yet, but it's a nice space to work on some of their moves.

Day 264

Tahoe....

Girls weekend in Tahoe came just at the right time.  It was a bit stormy on the way up and rained into the evening, then we saw snow, but woke up to beautiful blue skies this morning.  

Can't wait to go again!

Soccer Saturday....

Cody's team did better this weekend even though they lost 0-3.  

I didn't catch the end of the game as I was on my way to Tahoe.

Day 262

Working......

Cody's soccer team has been playing against some very tough teams.  He joined the team after they had been practicing for more than 2 months.  I've mentioned to him that it would help his game if he built up his stamina, but it was up to him.  This morning he went for a jog without anyone prompting him.  It's awesome to see him making good choices.

Empty.....

Our rabbit, Bun, past away this morning.  We're not really sure what happened, but we also don't know how old she was.  It's strange to not see her out there.  

Rest in Peace sweet Bun.

Pet sitting...

One of our neighbors is on a trip this week and asked us to feed and play with his dog while he's away.  The boys have had a good time going over and keeping her company.  She's a super sweet dog, so it's not hard to enjoy our time with her.

Tuesday....

The boys have their enrichment classes on Tuesday which means doing some of our work in the car while waiting for the other.  Mr. A is having fun exploring the back of the truck as well.

Busy = Normal.....

Our new normal through November.  6 Days of sports (occasional 7th), enrichment classes, appointments and babysitting.  Busy is our normal, I'm not sure we would know what to do with ourselves if it wasn't like this.

Soccer Sunday....

We had two games this weekend, luckily both being in the morning.  They lost again 0-6?, but had a better start and were a bit more evenly matched.  They all have a lot of work to do this season.

Soccer Saturday....

The boys had a rough game today, losing 0-7.

Aerospace Museum....

We took Grandma & Grandpa D. to the Aerospace Museum today.  It was hot walking through the outside planes, but really interesting.

Spare room....

Our someday house will have an extra room as a spare bedroom.  For now, it's the futon! 

Day 253

Classes, take 2....

Yesterday's classes are the ones the boys go to each week. 

Today they had their once a month classes up in Rescue.  

Cody took an engineering class (built a rubber band rocket), Mixed media art (make a pencil holder out of a coil of paper) and LEGO Robotics (built a car and then programmed it on the computer for movements).

Tyler took a LEGO Engineering class (built a gravity and pull back car), Life Science (held and talked about all kinds of reptiles and brought home a fish that's only as wide as my thumb nail) and an Art class (painting).  

Both reported that the classes were great and they were upset that they had to wait a month until the next session! 

Day 252

Classes.....

The boys started their enrichment classes today.  Ty had hip-hop and Simple Contraptions, Cody had a chess class and building derby cars.  They both fished the day, having enjoyed their time.

Homework...

Summer is sting holding on today, reaching into the 100's and our air quality is bad due to all the fires in the area, so soccer practice has been canceled.  Coach emailed with some homework, working on juggling for ball handling skills.

We celebrated Aiden's 1st Birthday today!

Soccer, game 1....

Cody had his first comp game today.  He had a few good plays, pass and a good shot on goal but it was hot and he didn't have the stamina.  No win today, but there's 10 more chances + a tournament to turn that around.

Nachos, burgers, hot dogs...

Fun stuff tonight, working the snack bar at the gym during one of the girls' meet to earn money for the boys' team.  5 hours hasn't flown by that fast in a long time.

Working on form....

Ty forgets about his feet when they leave the ground at the gym, trying to make pointing second nature.  He has become super strong though.

Team....

Ty had team practice this morning with the whole boys team.  

His team bag came in as well, he is stoked to have one with his name on it.

We spent the day at the beach to celebrate Ty's Birthday, it was beautiful.
