Crafty Christmas 2016

Crafty was king again this Christmas to make some gifts for family and friends that hopefully showed lots of love.

I made 3 sets of King sized pillow cases for my mom, but forgot to take a picture!

Scarves were for some of my favorite gals.  I also made myself a red and white one.

String art was a new adventure this year and I think I'm in love.
Idaho for my sister in law
Outdoor California Love for Ty's gym head coach

Australia to California for my Brother and Sister in Law
(Sorry for the sideways shot)

Cousin Cody received a photo quilt.  A bit of pirating of his Instagram and family Facebook pages yielded some great shots.  He likes to hunt, so I found some camo print and used woodsy prints for the borders.
I like the general idea of how it turned out.  Hoping to up my quilting game because that is holding me back.
Cousins Aiden and Annabel were given the boys' old Leapster games and bags.
The bags started out like this, kinda sad and initials that don't match.
I covered the initials with patches that matched the bags.
Then added a canvas insert that gave the bags some much needed shape.

The house had a bit of crafty as well.
A new rag wreath made from fabrics I already had in my stash.

New card wreaths were inspired by an evening out with my girlfriends.
Sarah set up a simple craft of covering clothespins with scrapbook paper and adding button embellishments.
I brought home some extra papers to match and made a second set.  I had these great wooden snowflake cut outs to add on as well.
Love how they look with cards from the season.
We always add a photo ornament of each boy to the tree, so I ran with the clothespin and snowflakes to make the set for 2016.

Eek, it's been 3 years since I posted on the crafty blog.  Ugh.  Maybe this year will be better!

Day 365

Cody partied a little too hard last night at a friend's sleepover.  He fell asleep twice today while trying to read, and was into bed and asleep before 8pm.
Happy New Year!

Day 364

Mini Golf....
A bit of end of the year fun thanks to Virginia and Eli.  We took advantage of holiday hours and went for a round of mini golf.

Day 363

These stupid little bands really feed crafty obsessions.
Starburst made by hand, thanks to You Tube.

Day 362

This is the tale of when Uncle Stu saved Cody's Christmas!
Santa really messed up this year and didn't bring the motors he desperately wanted.
A few days after, thanks to UPS being over loaded, his was a happy boy.

Day 361

Our tree just barely held on until Christmas, taking it down so soon as it felt like it may become a fire hazard.  It's trying to shrivel up, making it very hard to take off the ornaments and lights.  A good portion of it fell to the floor when it was on it's way out the door.

Day 360

Band Bracelets.....
The boys have caught the rubber band bracelet fever.  We don't have an actual loom, but thanks to Pinterest and You Tube we were able to figure out how to make them without.  The boys have been making simple designs using a fork, more designs to come!

Day 358

Another one in the books, happy all around!

Crafty Christmas 2013

This was the year of last minute projects, but they were all completed and sent off in time!

Coaches, friends and family received therapy sacks this year.
Very simple craft using a washcloth, sewn into a rectangle and filled with whole feeder corn.  You can heat them or freeze them depending on your needs.
(Thanks to Teresa for the idea!)

Grandparent Memory Books
This year I did them in seasons instead of my the month and very simple designs.

Photo Collages for family

T-Shirt quilt of Tyler

Fleece throw for Cody
 Braided edge instead of tying.

My favorite is the wall hanging for a good friend.
Book themed blocks, books on a shelf.
This block has a clear sleeve for a 3x5 picture.

Not a ton, but they took a good amount of time!
