Day 59

Artsy....

The boys are taking art classes on Thursdays.  

Tyler's pottery class started making bird houses today, coiling clay around a balloon and then smoothing it out.  Cody is taking a painting class and they are working on a leopard on a branch painting.  Today he was adding detail to the branch by adding shadows.

Day 58

Creator Contest....

Cody is a member of the club LEGO and receives their magazine in the mail.  He found that they were doing a LEGO Creator contest where you design and build a car using any LEGO bricks and pieces.  He built a muscle car inspired hotrod, complete with a working hood and trunk and a 4 cylinder engine.  We submitted his entry today, let's hope he's one in a million!

Stretch....

Part of Ty's work today was stretching himself out, resting only his toes on the bar to support his handstand.

Front Hand Springs....

Tyler has been trying so hard to land a front hand spring on the trampoline, he's getting close.

Oscar's...

It's always more fun to watch the Oscar's with your friends.  So for the 2nd year in a row the Momtourage (minus 2) gathered for the viewing of the awards.  It was a lot of fun, we ate too much food and had a great running commentary.  My contribution was to bring dessert, gluten free cookies and cream cheese cake.  Then I got all fancy and piped chocolate onto a sheet, froze it and laid it on top.  Oscar for my ladies and names for the boys to take to family dinner.

Working on their rooms....

We worked today to finish moving things around and getting the boys' new room organized.  

Now to finish reorganizing the toy room.

Party time....

The boys were invited to a party tonight at one of the bounce places, they had a blast!

Sale weekend at the local Scholastic Warehouse = awesome! 

Only way this could have been better was if they had more adult titles.

Wipeout.....

Cody was invited to a friend's house for the morning, so I let Ty pick a game from the Redbox.  

He chose the newest Wipeout game, it was pretty funny.  

The characters were hilarious!

Day 50

Almost Spring....

The weather has been very warm the past week confusing a lot of the plants into thinking it's spring.  These lovelies were waiting for us at the gym this afternoon.

Organizing....

Before moving the books back onto the bookshelves in the boys' room it was time to sort through them again. 
Really this was a last ditch effort to hopefully find a lost library book, saving $20 in fees.

Room to grow....

Before and After

The boys are growing and could really use some more space.  After shopping around a bit, some IKEA loft beds were the fix.  Once finished we will have the books loaded onto the shelves, pillows to lounge on, the game shelf brought in and a coffee table to work/play on.  Loving how much brighter their room is without the bed blocking so much of the window!

Day 47

Weekend projects.....

Today we went to IKEA and came home with some big ol' boxes.  

So big we really had to work hard to get them into the Tahoe.

Day 46

I gotta new trick.....

Little man started rolling from front to back this week.  He's very proud of this accomplishment.  

He's taking off on a jet plane with Mom and Dad to meet his Aussie family next week.  

We're going to miss him and it will be fun to see what he can do when he's back!

Done for know....

Tonight was the boys' last day of winter swim clinic.  It's been a wonderful experience and I'm glad we took the extra time to drive up the hill.  They've both gained some confidence and will hopefully have a kick start to the upcoming swim season.

Car School....

This has been the best position to work when we are out of the house and needing to get things done.  Cody found that using the front seat as a desk is easier than using his lap.  

Gotta love class days!

Day 42

Private.....

At the first of the year, Tyler moved up a level in gymnastics.  Unfortunately, they don't have enough class slots right now so he's back to one class a week.  In hopes of helping him build strength and continue to progress we signed up for a private with the head boys' coach.  He was worked for an hour, really focusing on form and conditioning.  He did great!

Day 41

Soccer Sunday...

Cody's indoor team had a bonus game on Sunday to give the team they were playing one more game in the session.  There wasn't a game before our so the boys were able to warm-up on the field.  Ty had fun playing out on the turf.

We were doing some price shopping at Lowe's and wondered over to the garden area.

There were so many statues that called to me, love!

Day 39

Peaceful....

This one can really fight the sleep when he wants to.  Luckily he's adorable and we finally found his sweet spot of a time slot for his long afternoon snooze.

Working on organizing papers for our teacher visit tomorrow, enjoying the quiet while the boys were in their classes.

The littlest cousin watchin' the biggest one play.

The hallway makes for a great runway for balls, cars and all sorts of games.

Climbing....

Grandpa surveyed the tree in the backyard and deemed it strong enough for a climbing rope.  He ordered one and it finally arrived today.  I'm hoping we can also add a new swing set for 2 swings and a pair of rings, and a high bar.  The boys would also love to have a digging place, so it's on the list.  

Hoping this is the year we can finally get our back yard in order!

Super Bowl!

I'm not a huge football fan.  If the right team is play (BSU) it can be fun to get into the game.  I'm one the likes to watch for the commercials.  

This year, Pinterest kept me company.  

Tyler made it through most of the game, but ended like this.

Last semester the boys worked on books in their writing class.

Today the finished books arrived in the mail.

Welcome to February....

Today was gorgeous out with sunny skies and warm weather.  The boys really enjoyed it!
